Insulating Concrete Roof Decks

Insulation of concrete roof application

Lightweight Insulating Concrete Roof Decks are installed by Barrier Corp. in new construction applications over metal decks or directly over concrete substrates.  These products can also be installed in reroof applications over a temporary roof membrane that is applied after the tear off of the existing roofing system or it can be installed over the existing roof membrane if it is determined that the moisture level in the existing roof system is minimual.

In reroof applications, this system can eliminate all deflections and / or ponding as the slurry concrete is poured to fill in these areas prior to setting the insulation board.

The Lightweight Insulating Concrete Roof Deck product line combines 29 PCF concrete with expanded polystyrene (EPS) board to provide a positive slope to drain roof tapering system that is lightweight (4-8 PSF), has a high insulating value that is age stable, provides a smooth and monolithic roofing surface at 400 PSI and is rated for I90 wind uplift.

These benefits result in a very economical and lightweight system that fits a variety of roofing needs.
